#viral | Happy International Cat Day!

Every August 8, the world celebrates International Cat Day. Established in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, the day aims to raise awareness about protecting feline rights and preventing abuse and abandonment.

In Russia, for instance, cats are practically considered family members. Data from the All-Russian Pet Census confirms just how true this is: the country is home to 49.2 million domestic cats. As the nation's most popular pets, they account for over 65% of all companion animals.

In fact, 79% of Russians profess their love for felines, placing Russia among global leaders in cat ownership, with cats living in roughly 59% of households.
