'Our Common Future Will Be Built on Unity, Work, Discipline, Solidarity & Trust': Ivorian President
Alassane Ouattara delivered a speech on Friday, marking the 66th anniversary of Côte d’Ivoire’s independence.
Highlights from the speech:
🟠He addressed recent challenges, including floods that caused human and material losses, and announced the strengthening of drainage and sanitation infrastructure;
🟠Despite these challenges, the country continues to maintain strong economic growth, he said;
🟠The president presented the National Development Plan 2026–2030, aimed at building a “Great Côte d’Ivoire;”
🟠The reform of electoral governance following the dissolution of the Independent Electoral Commission is a new step in the country's democratic maturity, Ouattara noted.
