"No other country has contributed to our development outside of Africa more than the Russian Federation," Lindiwe Sisulu, former minister of International Relations and the jury member of the International Leo Tolstoy Prize, told Sputnik Africa.
Russia offered South Africa and the continent education, hospitals, and a home during apartheid, providing the tools that enabled them "to come back and take responsibility," she added.
"Russia has consistently been on the right path of justice, it has been on the right path of peace, it has been on the right path of solidarity."
