Africa Must Pool Technical Resources to Build Indigenous Military Tech Amid UN Drawdowns: Tanzanian Expert
African nations must achieve technological self-reliance in defense to reduce dependence on foreign military aid, international political analyst Ali Masubi told Sputnik Africa.
His remarks came amid ongoing UN peacekeeping drawdowns and budget pressures that are expected to reduce the international security presence in parts of Africa.
The expert urged armed forces to partner with local technical universities to build indigenous capabilities, including the domestic production of drones and integration of robotics into national defense strategies.
Modern security requires a strategic shift away from outdated traditional tactics, he emphasized.
