African Women Can Only Reclaim Their Voice if Digital & Financial Divides Are Closed: CEO of Women Empowerment Organization
The biggest barriers for female entrepreneurs in South Africa are not a lack of skills, but limited access to finance, markets, and an enabling environment, Shiphra Chisha, CEO of the Graça Machel Trust, told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines the Women in Business and Leadership Conference.
Without digital skills and resources, women are denied a voice in the modern economy, she noted, stressing the urgent need to bridge the digital gap.
Chisha also called on government and the private sector to build a supportive ecosystem that empowers current businesswomen and prepares ethical, authentic young girls for future leadership.
