SA Urges Better Access to Finance & Training for Women Entrepreneurs for Their Business' Growth: Minister

South Africa has made significant strides in female empowerment since the historic 1956 Women's March, when they protested against unjust apartheid laws restricting their freedom of movement, Sindisiwe Chikunga, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and People with Disabilities, told Sputnik Africa.

However, she emphasized that women still require improved access to finance, resources, and training to successfully scale and expand their businesses.

Ministers are not entrepreneurs and lack firsthand knowledge of the daily challenges women face in business, which is precisely why government leaders must attend such events as the Women in Business and Leadership Conference, the minister noted on the sidelines of the gathering.
