Drone Strike on Courthouse in Sudan's North Darfur Kills at Least 37, Including Tribal Leaders
The courthouse in Kabkabiya's Gurra‑Zawiya district was struck during a meeting of local leaders, killing 37 and wounding 40, the Sudan Tribune reported.
Key details:
🟠Some local media reports indicated that the targeted gathering in Gurra‑Zawiya district included only local tribal leaders, who previously rejected RSF calls for mobilization amid army advancement in the Kordofan region.
🟠Meanwhile, the Tasis coalition, which is political arm of the rebel paramilitary group, claimed the government forces carried out the attack; the army has yet to respond to this claim.
🟠The strike follows recent army gains in western areas, including the liberation of a strategic export road linking Khartoum to North Kordofan.
🟠The army has since intensified its drone operations in Darfur targeting RSF positions to weaken the rebel group.
