Nigerien Armed Forces' 66th Anniversary Commemorated in Niamey

The event brought together former national leaders, government officials, and members of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland, according to a statement from the Nigerien Ministry of Defense.

The celebration served to honor fallen soldiers and terrorism victims, while reaffirming the military's commitment to defending Niger’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Salaou Barmou, said.

The program featured:

▪ tribute to fallen soldiers;

▪ awards presentation;

▪ exhibition of local industrial expertise.

The Army Equipment Directorate unveiled two new 100% Nigerien-made vehicles: the Kaocen armored vehicle and the Inatès light intervention vehicle.
