Future of Africans & Cubans Should Be Built on Strong Human Values: Fidel Castro’s Grandson

Cuba has deep historical ties with Africa, rooted in decades of military and educational support to the continent, Cuban nuclear physicist and government science adviser Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov stated at the World Public Summit in Addis Ababa.

He highlighted that this shared history has contributed to African countries' current solidarity with Havana at the UN and the AU in opposing pressure from the US, Sputnik Africa's correspondent reported.

Referring to the African saying, “A tree with deep roots does not fear the wind,” Castro Smirnov said Cuba has refused to surrender despite facing US sanctions and pressure for nearly 67 years.

The future of both Africans and Cubans should be built not on imperialist forces but on human values based on dignity, resilience, and inclusiveness, he noted.
