Russian Agricultural Exports to Africa Surge 40% in First Half of 2026: Agroexport

Russia supplied over 11 million tonnes of agricultural products to the continent, worth approximately $2.9 billion, Russia's Center for Agricultural Export Development reported.

Top exports by volume:

Wheat: ~10.2 million tonnes

Barley: ~234,000 tonnes

Soybean oil: over 158,000 tonnes

Sunflower seed cake and meal: over 95,000 tonnes

Sugar beet pulp: over 64,000 tonnes

Top buyers:

Egypt led with 4.9 million tonnes, accounting for 44% of total volume;

Sudan ranked second with an 11% share;

Kenya was the third-largest buyer, with a 10% share.

In total, Russia exported agricultural products to over 40 African countries in 2026, Agroexport noted.
