Ukrainians Use Côte d'Ivoire's Forests to Train Mercenaries Attacking Mali: Nigerien President
Ukrainians participated in training mercenaries behind the late April attacks on Mali, Abdourahamane Tiani told media.
They landed in a forest in Côte d'Ivoire using visas obtained from a country neighboring Ukraine, he revealed.
Tiani also denounced the "complicity" of three neighboring African countries in the offensive on April 25 by the Al-Qaeda*-affiliated terrorist group, during which Mali’s Defense Minister Sadio Camara was killed by an improvised vehicle suicide bombing in Kati.
In mid-July, Russia’s foreign minister similarly condemned former colonial powers for supporting Sahel Islamist groups that employ "not only terrorist groups but also Ukrainian fighters."
