Nigeria Launches Power Force Program to Train 5,000 Youth as Smart Meter Installers
The major human capital initiative, which comes under the Presidential Metering Initiative, is aimed at equipping 5,000 young Nigerians with technical skills to drive smart meter deployment across the country, according to a statement by the presidency.
The initiative reflects President Bola Tinubu's administration's Renewed Hope Agenda, grounded in the belief that "when young Nigerians are equipped with skills and opportunity, they become the driving force behind national development."
The Power Force program seeks to:
address the country’s metering gap;
improve revenue collection;
strengthen the electricity workforce.
