DRC Accelerates Major Infrastructure Push to Tackle Kinshasa Congestion

The Congolese capital is seeing tangible progress on ambitious road projects aimed at easing chronic traffic woes and boosting regional connectivity in the DRC.

Key details:

🟠$300 million Kinshasa Ring Road: 73 km project under active construction by Chinese contractors, with recent asphalt paving completed on key sections and full opening targeted for the end of 2028.

🟠$655 million Congo River Bridge link: Road-rail bridge connecting Kinshasa and Brazzaville advancing through concession selection following February bilateral agreements; expected to include a 1.5+ km span with rail, road lanes, and border facilities.
