SA's G20 Exclusion Reflects Global Power Rivalry: SA Analyst

The US administration demands alignment over dialogue, subordinating others to its interests, Rasigan Maharajh, Professor of Public Affairs at Tshwane University of Technology, told Sputnik Africa.

"South African position is thus not a counter-narrative but a corrective of factual record, one that exposes ideological desperation of a declining hegemon unable to defend its proxy by means other than slander."

Africa faces stronger "neocolonial pressure" to align with US interests, he added.

"The same unilateralist logic that dismisses SA today can very well be extended to any of those allies whose interests diverge from dominant corporate factions ruling the US today."
