'Sovereignty in Health is Liberation Strategy': Ghana's President
"Let each of us bring the Ministry of Finance to the health table and keep it seated right at that table," said President John Dramani Mahama in his speech at the Extraordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government in Accra.
The president focused on developing healthcare in Africa through:
🟠producing its own vaccines;
🟠building resilient health systems;
🟠moving beyond aid dependency toward true self-reliance.
Africa's pharmaceutical manufacturing plan is moving from paper to practice, with medicine agencies transitioning "to working instruments and strategic joint procurement," he added.
The continental pharmaceutical strategy "will give our manufacturers the boost they have been waiting for, and they have so long deserved."
