Nigeria Poised to Double Crude Oil Production by 2030, Petroleum Regulator Confirms

The country's national plan of reaching 3 million barrels per day by 2030 remains on track and is achievable, the head of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission told a US media outlet.

"The major enablers are being addressed," said Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, pointing to faster permitting, sales processes, and tax waivers introduced under President Bola Tinubu.

It's noteworthy that production reached 1.735 million bpd in June, the highest since April 2020, with Nigerian-owned producers now accounting for about 60% of output.
