African Countries Interested in Russian Vaccine Against New Ebola Strain: Russian Diplomat"When the Guinea outbreak occurred and a major Ebola epidemic began in Guinea and Sierra Leone [in 2014–2015], vaccines were developed at our laboratory in Guinea," Director of the African Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoliy Bashkin told Russian media. "They were in demand and helped bring that epidemic under control."
