No Decision on Libya's Future Will Be Imposed Without Libyans, Says Tripoli-Based PM
The Tripoli-based Government of National Unity will proceed only with what the Libyan people agree upon, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba said, speaking during the Fourth Ordinary Cabinet Meeting of 2026 in Zliten.

🟠National solutions require compromise: "National solutions are built on courage, and making concessions is an act of nobility when done for the sake of the homeland."
🟠Rejection of outside impositions: Aldabaiba vowed to speak candidly about various initiatives currently being proposed, including a US‑backed plan involving the Haftar family, which would see a Haftar member lead the Presidency Council while Aldabaiba remains PM to oversee elections.
🟠Commitment to dialogue: He announced plans for a national dialogue involving municipalities, political parties, and civil society organizations to listen to diverse opinions.
"There is no place in Libya for extrajudicial detention or infringement on freedom of expression," the PM concluded, emphasizing the state's responsibility to enforce the law for all without exception.
