Ebola Outbreak in DRC: 2,267 Confirmed Cases, 893 Deaths as of Sunday
The fatality rate stands at 39.4%, with 444 recoveries recorded, according to the latest update on the Ebola outbreak released by the Ministry of Communication and Media.
Key developments:
🟠Currently, 722 patients are in quarantine or undergoing treatment, according to an official statement.
🟠At least five provinces have been affected with the outbreak, including Haut‑Uélé, Ituri, Tshopo, North Kivu, and South Kivu.
🟠No new cases have been reported in South Kivu for over 50 days.
🟠Ituri remains the epicenter, with 32 new recoveries and intensified surveillance.
🟠Response efforts are scaling up, with contact tracing having reached 83.6%. The situation remains stable in Tshopo and South Kivu.
