Egypt and Tanzania Vow to Deepen Strategic Partnership, Sign Transport and Energy Deals

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised Tanzania's balanced positions on regional issues and pledged technical support, while President Samia Suluhu Hassan described bilateral cooperation as a model for African integration.

Key outcomes of the talks:

🟠Two MoUs signed: Covering transport, electricity, and renewable energy.

🟠Agriculture and infrastructure: Egypt expressed readiness to contribute to Dar es Salaam Port expansion and discussed a potential agricultural land reclamation project to support food security in both countries.

🟠Regional connectivity: Proposed maritime route linking Safaga and Dar es Salaam, and a multimodal transport corridor connecting Cairo and Dar es Salaam.

🟠Hydropower expertise: Egypt pledged to transfer experience from the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project and expand training programs for Tanzanian professionals.

The two leaders also discussed regional issues, including the situation in Horn of Africa, the Red Sea, and collective African action.
