'Israel is Afraid of Us': Lebanese Border Town Defies Proposed 'Pilot Zone'

Residents in southern Lebanon are voicing defiance amid growing uncertainty over recent Rome talks between Lebanon and Israel that proposed "pilot zones" near the border. One such zone includes areas where the Israeli army has failed to establish full control.

In the town of Frun, near the Israeli-occupied village of Zutart al-Gharbiya, residents told a Sputnik correspondent they fear the proposals could put their homes at risk. Despite this, they remain unbowed.

"We are a proud people, a free people, a people that loves life. We will not live in humiliation," one resident said.
