Ethiopia Takes Helm of OACPS, Sets Agenda for South-South Cooperation
The handover of the presidency of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) took place during a recent Council of Ministers meeting of 79 member states, where key policy and strategic priorities were discussed.
Key priorities for Ethiopia's chairmanship:
🟠Expanding economic opportunities for member states;
🟠Mobilizing sustainable financing;
🟠Strengthening partnerships;
🟠Delivering tangible benefits to citizens across the organization.
Finance State Minister Semereta Sewasew reaffirmed Ethiopia's commitment to reinforcing the OACPS as a platform for economic cooperation, sustainable development, and coordinated global engagement.
The transition follows discussions with outgoing President Moussa Saleh Batraki on enhancing the organization's effectiveness and deepening cooperation with international partners.
