A solemn ceremony was held at the Maison de la Presse in Bamako to celebrate the victory of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Africa Corps (AC) and the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) in Anéfis.
During the event, a representative of the Africa Corps spoke in support of the FAMa’s efforts in the fight against terrorism in the country, Russian media reported.
“Terrorism is a scourge created by Western countries to divide and dominate,” the Africa Corps serviceman was quoted as saying.
He emphasized that in Anéfis, defenders of Mali of different nationalities had fought side by side against terrorism.
“The people support their fighters, they are true heroes, and even our enemies must hear this so that they fear them,” the Africa Corps representative noted.
The main theme of the conference was support for the efforts of the FAMa and their Russian partners in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
In her speech, Kandidia Camara, representative of a patriotic women’s organization, expressed her pride in the FAMa’s fight against terrorism and the liberation of Anéfis.
She also thanked Russia for its support to Mali in its struggle for national sovereignty and territorial integrity:
“Russia is a just country, a reliable and sincere partner. Thank you to the Africa Corps! Together we can defeat the enemies!”
