Mali: Pro-Government Forces Advance Northward to Secure Civilians, Local Media Report
This refers to the coalition that the local press also calls the “republican movements,” composed of the Imghad Tuareg Self-Defense Group and Allies (GATIA) and the Movement for the Salvation of Azawad (MSA).
It contributed to the recapture of the town of Anéfis, where intense fighting has been taking place since July 4.
These forces now announce they are heading toward the northern town of Tinzaouatène.
After their defeat in Anéfis, JNIM* terrorists “declared war” on them, according to local media.
Separately, the Russian Africa Corps announced that on July 9 it destroyed a terrorist pickup truck that was attempting to attack a column of “allied forces” composed of the Africa Corps, the Malian army, GATIA, and MSA.
