Moscow enterprises export medical equipment and pharmaceutical products to African countries, and equip fuel and energy, transport, and telecommunications infrastructure.
According to the results of last year, Moscow’s industrial exports to the continent nearly doubled, said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.

“On instructions from Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city systematically supports industrialists in entering foreign sales markets. African countries are one of the promising destinations for Moscow exporters of high-tech solutions. The capital consistently leads among Russian regions in trade volume with African states — accounting for 36.7% of the national total. In 2025, industrial exports to the continent increased by almost two times — by 89.5% compared to 2024,” noted Maxim Liksutov.

The promotion of industrialists abroad is handled by the Mosprom Export Support Center. The buyer program is in particularly high demand. Moscow covers the costs of building stands at international exhibitions and the logistics of exhibits, and also organizes negotiations with potential partners.
“Among the main areas of cooperation with Africa are pharmaceuticals and medicine, machinery for the fuel and energy sector, as well as instrumentation for the development of the region’s transport and telecommunications infrastructure. Last year, Moscow industrialists most often exported to Algeria, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, and Nigeria,” said Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Moscow Department for Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
In Nigeria, vaccines for people and diagnostic reagents are in demand; in the Democratic Republic of Congo, vaccines as well. To Algeria, Ethiopia, and Egypt, special vehicles, air conditioning equipment, and statistical converters are mainly exported.
In September 2026, a business mission to South Africa will take place — the city will organize negotiations for Moscow industrial companies as part of the Electra Mining Africa exhibition.
