SA Traditional Leaders Speak Out Against Xenophobia
A delegation led by King Ndamase Ndamase, Chairperson of the South Africa Kings Council, visited Zimbabwe to reaffirm African unity, insisting that migration disputes should be resolved through dialogue rather than violence, according to a Zimbabwean official.
"We are here to show peace and to show that we, as African people, are one," King Ndamase said.
Violence against migrants could never be justified, and the recent anti-immigration demonstrations do not reflect official policy, he added.
Traditional leaders formally notified President Ramaphosa of their plans in writing, according to Ndamase.
