Russia's Wheat Exports to Africa Rise to Record Levels in 2025/26
Shipments to Sub-Saharan Africa totaled approximately 6.7 million tonnes — 3% higher than in 2024/25 and 34% above the five-year average, Russia's Agroexport reported.
Record volumes were delivered to:
Egypt (10 million tonnes, 27%);
Sudan (~ 2,2 million tonnes);
Kenya (~1.8 million tonnes, +83% above five-year average);
Tanzania (~0.9 million tonnes, +49%);
Uganda (~0.5 million tonnes, +83%),
Djibouti (over 350,000 tonnes, +100%);
Somalia (~ 230,000 tonnes, +200%).
Diversifying shipments minimizes demand fluctuations, and Sub-Saharan Africa's growing role is expected to become a key element of Russia's grain export development in Africa, Agroexport emphasized.
