Second Delivery of Russian Humanitarian Aid Arrives in Venezuela

A Russian cargo aircraft landed on Sunday in the city of Maiquetía, Central Venezuela, with 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid from Russia to assist those affected by the double earthquake that shook Venezuela on June 24.

The first 10-tonne-shipment of aid from Russia arrived on Saturday.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil Pinto, expressed deep appreciation to President Putin and the Russian people for the efforts to mitigate the earthquake's consequences.

The disaster has resulted in at least 4,333 deaths and left approximately 16,740 injured people, while 18,437 people have lost their homes and are being placed in temporary shelters.
