Cameroon Allocates $25 Million to Restore 10,000 Hectares of Degraded Land and Ecosystems
The restoration focuses on regions under high human pressure—including deforestation linked to agriculture, logging, and urban expansion in the West and human‑wildlife conflict around Mpem‑Djim National Park in the Center, local media reported.
Key project details:
🟠Duration: The project will run for 36 months and also aims to improve management practices on nearly 100,000 hectares.
🟠Beneficiaries: Approximately 5,000 people, including 2,500 women and over 500 indigenous community members, are expected to benefit from income‑generating activities such as agroforestry, beekeeping, and ecotourism, as well as improved community resource governance.
