Nigeria Tops Africa in Responsible AI Governance Index, Climbs 42 Places to 38th Globally
The index, published by the Global Center on AI Governance, evaluates countries across five dimensions:
▪ Inclusion and Diversity;
▪ Ethics and Sustainability;
▪ Labor and Skills;
▪ Trust and Safety;
▪ AI Use in Public Service.
Nigeria's improved performance reflects deliberate government efforts under President Tinubu and the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy —including the National AI Strategy, investments in digital talent, and international partnerships.
Nigeria was also named a global "Bright Spot" for advancing AI literacy while strengthening protections for children.
