Russia, Tanzania Roll Out Comprehensive Plan to Advance Tech, Energy & Tourism: Russian Ambassador

The historic state visit of the Tanzanian president to Russia has resulted in a comprehensive roadmap to elevate bilateral relations across multiple sectors, Andrey Avetisyan, ambassador of Russia to Tanzania, pointed out in an interview with Sputnik Africa.

According to him, key fields of cooperation include:

Economy & Tech: Expanding cooperation in trade, agriculture, and logistics, alongside new frontiers in IT, AI, and digital sovereignty.

Education: Russia provides 150 annual scholarships for Tanzanian students.

Tourism: New direct flights are driving a rapid surge in Russian tourist bookings for Zanzibar and entire country.

Energy & Mining: Rosatom is set to produce 3,000 tonnes of uranium annually by 2030. Additionally, Russia is offering safe, modern nuclear technologies to help Tanzania generate power.

Agriculture: A Russian company is rapidly developing large-scale banana plantations in Tanzania for export.
