Iran condemns US strikes, warns of consequences
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has issued a condemnation of the overnight US strikes on monitoring sites along Iran's southern coast, denouncing them as a "flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the war-ending memorandum."
Key points from the statement:
▪ US military aggression breached Paragraph 1 of the MoU, which requires a halt to all military operations
▪ The US also revoked Iran's oil sales permit—a commitment made under Paragraph 10 of the agreement
▪ Ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon further renders the deal null and void
▪ The US bears full responsibility for the dangerous consequences of this escalation
▪Iran cautions regional states: facilitating aggressors via their territory or airspace will be treated as criminal complicity
▪ Iran's armed forces will safeguard national sovereignty and respond decisively against the source of aggression, acting lawfully under Article 51 of the UN Charter
