Russian Troops Advancing on All Fronts in SMO Zone—133 Settlements Liberated Since Start of 2026: Chief of General Staff
Other successes of the Russian military from Chief of General Staff Gerasimov’s report:
▪In June, the Russian Army liberated 29 settlements and 636 sq km of territory.
▪The highest rates of advance were achieved in the areas of responsibility of the "North" and "East" groups.
▪The "North" group continues to expand the security zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The creation of a security zone in the Dnepropetrovsk region is ongoing.
▪Advanced Russian groups are within 9 km of the southern outskirts of Zaporozhye.
▪The Ukrainian Armed Forces are making unsuccessful attempts to break through to Kupyansk—they are suffering significant losses, with about 2,500 Ukrainian servicemen eliminated there since May 10.
▪Elimination of enemy forces on the eastern bank of the Oskol River continues.
▪The liberation of Krasny Liman, an important administrative center and major logistics hub, is nearing completion.
▪Advanced units of the "Center" group have entered Dobropolye and Annovka; fighting continues in Belitskoye.
▪The "East" group is advancing westward in the eastern part of the Zaporozhye region along its main strike direction.
▪On the night of July 2, Russian troops struck five enterprises of Ukraine’s aviation and radio-electronic industries and hit five airfields.
▪Gerasimov reported to Putin that the Kiev regime, lacking success, is striving to convince Western sponsors that it has seized the initiative.
