African nations have the potential to transform technology into "a very powerful diplomatic and legal shield," mathematician and data scientist Dr. Houankpo Hector Gibson Kinmanhon told Sputnik Africa.
AI as a Legal Shield
Modern AI models can now track ethnic cleansing, identify prohibited weapons, and detect deepfakes with over 95% accuracy, effectively turning massive data streams into tangible court evidence, according to him.
🟢Africa's Unique Opportunity
Driven by the unprecedented judicial pressure it faces, the continent possesses all the necessary assets to emerge as a leading international hub for AI and digital justice, Kinmanhon noted.
A Cautionary Note
However, the realization of this potential requires strict data governance and a rigorous ethical framework to ensure these digital tools do not become a new form of domination over the population, the expert emphasized.
