Algeria Holds Parliamentary Elections
Algerians are heading to the polls to elect 407 members of the National People's Assembly (APN), the lower house of parliament, for a five-year term.
Key details:
🟠Polling stations opened at 8:00 AM on Thursday and will close at 7:00 PM.
🟠A total of 793 lists comprising 9,854 candidates are running in constituencies across the country, along with 54 lists with 432 candidates representing the Algerian community abroad.
🟠The electorate stands at 24.7 million voters, including approximately 854,000 residing outside Algeria.
🟠Preliminary results are expected within 48 hours of receiving the minutes, while the Constitutional Court will proclaim the final results within the following ten days.
