Africa's Largest Refiner Dangote Targets 2.1 Million BPD Capacity With $46 Billion Expansion
Dangote Group will expand its Nigerian facility from 700,000 to 1.4 million bpd, with an additional 700,000 bpd coming from a planned refinery in Kenya, Nigerian media reported.
Key details:
🟠Investment: $46 billion will be invested in capacity expansion between 2026 and 2028, according to Dangote Group Vice President for Oil and Gas Devakumar Edwin.
🟠European exports: In April, the company increased jet fuel sales to Europe by 75%, reaching 272,000 tonnes, according to Kpler data.
The expansion positions the Nigerian giant not only as Africa's leading energy company but also as a major fuel supplier to European markets.
