South Africa Advances Homeownership Agenda With Handover of 591 New Homes: State Media

The new homes represent a "worthy investment" from government into the lives of ordinary people, Gauteng Province Premier Panyaza Lesufi said.

The houses are part of the Droogeheuwel Mega Project—a Gauteng provincial initiative aimed at expanding homeownership and restoring dignity to communities. Phase 6 of the project is set to deliver a total of 5,906 housing opportunities, including:

▪ walk-up units;

▪ serviced sites;

▪ bonded houses;

▪ sports facilities;

▪ community halls.

This latest handover follows earlier deliveries of 120 houses in March and another 318 in mid-June.
