Smarter and harder to stop: Russia's latest cutting-edge military drones

Russia continues to expand its UAV portfolio, introducing new platforms alongside upgrades to existing systems. Here's a quick rundown of some of the latest innovations.

Geran‑2 Siker / Geran‑4 Siker: Upgraded AI-powered kamikaze drones with better optics, thermal imaging, and self‑homing systems capable of evading enemy air defenses.

Sibiryachok‑5: A quadcopter with visual odometry that returns home even when GPS is jammed.

Geoskan 701: The first serial‑produced fixed‑wing UAV with a fully Russian internal combustion engine.

Knyaz Veshchy Oleg: A fixed-wing reconnaissance drone with a reported 45 km range. The UAV is designed to resemble Ukrainian drones, reducing the likelihood of enemy identification and improving battlefield survivability.

Artemida 10: This FPV (first-person view) drone combines onboard machine vision with launch-from-cart capability, enabling rapid deployment close to the battlefield.

Supercam S180: This super-maneuverable drone is fitted with AI which helps it detect, evade, and outlast hostile drones before they can strike.

Ladya-12: An upgraded heavy drone with a coaxial rotor configuration designed to boost payload capacity while remaining compact enough for transport.

Korvet: A heavy hexacopter capable of carrying up to 15 kg of payload over short tactical distances. It’s an effective aerial vehicle for logistics and strike missions, with day/night operating capability.
