Going from nothing to over $95 million is "a huge jump," Samson Galadima Simon, Nigerian economist, told Sputnik Africa.
According to him, key factors behind the surge:
🟠The AfCFTA agreement was not only ratified but is now being implemented, with both sides working to boost trade;
🟠Air cargo fares have been drastically reduced from $10 to under $2 per kilogram;
🟠Lobbying, advocacy and diplomacy ensured the capacity of Nigeria to export to African countries.
"There was demand for some of these things, but the logistics, the infrastructure were not there. So now they have largely been provided, and that's why we're seeing this huge jump."
