SA Intensifies Migration Crackdown With Repatriations & Stricter Rules: Justice Minister
South Africa is stepping up its response to illegal migration through weekly monitoring and site inspections, Mmamoloko Kubayi, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, told Sputnik Africa.
According to the minister, key enforcement measures include:
🟠Streamlining border repatriations;
🟠Penalizing employers of undocumented immigrants;
🟠Boosting capacity at the Lindela Repatriation Center.
The government is also advancing legislative reforms and enforcing strict SIM card registration deadlines for mobile operators, she noted following a briefing of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration.
