Legendary Soviet Gymnast Slams Romania’s Symbol Ban & Supports Russian Team’s Tournament WithdrawalThe Russian team was right to withdraw from the gymnastics tournament in the Romanian town of Cluj-Napoca after the local mayor banned the Russian flag and anthem, defying the International Gymnastics Federation's official approval, Lydia Ivanova, two-time Olympic gymnastics champion, coach and judge, told Sputnik."The international federation known as FIG decided to allow Russian gymnasts to compete with their anthem and flag.
