Zimbabwe & Russia Must Strengthen Ties in Economic Cooperation, Says Mnangagwa
Receiving Russia's new ambassador, Sergey Berdnikov, the Zimbabwean president called for stronger cooperation in:
▪ mining;
▪ energy;
▪ agriculture;
▪ innovation.
Mnangagwa described Russia as a reliable ally, noting that relations between the two countries date back to the liberation struggle. He also welcomed Russia’s contributions to Zimbabwe in areas such as security, defense, education, and scholarships.
Berdnikov, in turn, said relations between Zimbabwe and Russia are excellent and friendly. He noted that the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow would explore new opportunities for cooperation and added that efforts are underway to extend visa-free travel to ordinary passport holders.
