Nigeria Hosts African Natural Resources & Energy Investment Summit to Promote Local Energy Production
Government officials, investors, and industry experts are uniting in Abuja under the "One Africa, One Resources" vision to transform the continent's energy potential into a strong partnership framework for sustainable development, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.
To secure its role in the global energy transition, Africa must stop exporting raw materials and start processing them locally to build its own industrial future and retain its wealth, Nigerian Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dr. Oladele Henry Alake stated at the event.
"African nations are no longer content to be passive participants in a global energy system. We are asserting our place in strategic partnerships," Jacob Kabakole, Chairman of the Board at the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority, noted.
The event takes place from Tuesday to Thursday.
