Ethiopia Utilizes Digital Technology as Fundamental Development Enabler: Information Network Security Administration
Ethiopia has undertaken remarkable efforts to build a reliable and resilient digital ecosystem, Tigist Hamid, Director General of the Information Network Security Administration, said at an opening ceremony of the third International Conference on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence in Addis Ababa.
"A secure digital ecosystem is not merely a technological necessity; rather, it is a fundamental pillar of national sovereignty, economic resilience, and sustainable development," she noted, as reported by a Sputnik Africa correspondent.
The government, private sector actors, and other stakeholders must collaborate to harness AI for further development, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, Mame Keita, emphasized.
The conference takes place on Wednesday and Thursday in the Ethiopian capital and is attended by government officials and senior cybersecurity experts.
