The in-person module of the SputnikPro AI in Media international internship has launched at the Rossiya Segodnya media group headquarters in Moscow.
The program, organized jointly with Rossotrudnichestvo under the "New Generation" initiative, brings together 22 young journalists from leading media outlets across 18 countries, focusing on practical AI applications in the professional media environment.
Lectures and workshops will run until June 26, covering the full spectrum of modern editorial tasks—from algorithmic monitoring of the information landscape to AI-powered audio and video production.
At the opening ceremony, Rossiya Segodnya's Director for International Cooperation Vasily Pushkov briefed participants on the Russian media market landscape and audience engagement strategies in the infotainment era.
"The 'New Generation' is a flagship international project for young people, implemented with partners from various fields. This internship with Rossiya Segodnya is dedicated to artificial intelligence in media, and I believe that this media group is the best place to see how professionals use AI to solve real-world tasks in media," Rossotrudnichestvo Deputy Head Kirill Bogomolov noted.
Laith Alassaf, head of the social media department at Ad-Dustour newspaper in Jordan, said that his participation in the "SputnikPro AI in Media" program represents a valuable professional and educational opportunity to explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence and its growing applications in journalism and media.

"One of the most significant aspects of the program is its international character, bringing together journalists and media professionals from diverse countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds. This creates a unique environment for dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and meaningful discussions about the common challenges facing media organizations worldwide, particularly in an era of rapid technological transformation," Alassaf said.

In the same vein, Hespress journalist Agouram Abdelaaziz (Morocco) highlighted that the program is well aligned with the growing needs of journalists in the age of artificial intelligence.
"There is no doubt that participants in this program will be able to further develop their skills in the field of artificial intelligence, which continues to expand steadily with the intensification of competition among companies worldwide," he said.
Vietnam Television (VTV) news anchor Nguyen Thùy Linh said, "The first few sessions really caught my attention. It was interesting to see how Russian media organizations are advancing AI in journalism. The speakers' humor also made the sessions more engaging and enjoyable. For the upcoming lessons, I'd love to see more practical tips on how to use these tools effectively in our daily work—such as prompting methods, news-gathering resources, and fact-checking methods."
