'The Only Way to Achieve Peace is to Have Negotiations': UNISA Professor on US-Iran Crisis

Dialogue remains the only viable solution amid rising tensions between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance, Mbekezeli Comfort Mkhize, an associate professor at the University of South Africa's Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs, told Sputnik Africa.

Speaking on the sidelines of a diplomatic seminar titled "Tectonic Shifts in Global Politics," Mkhize highlighted Iranian Deputy FM Dr. Saeed Khatibzadeh's remarks about US and Israeli aggression on Iran, describing it as a violation of international law that resulted in numerous fatalities and attacks on critical infrastructure.

"That shouldn't be tolerated," Prof. Mkhize noted. "We can't afford more human losses because we've lost so many lives, innocent civilians [...] There is no other option but to sit and have discussions."
