Namibia Rejects Starlink License Again Over Local Ownership Laws

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia has definitively denied Starlink's application for a license to operate in the country, local media reported.

‍ The application failed to meet Namibia’s national ownership requirements, the authority said. Under local law, telecommunications operators must be at least 51% owned by Namibian citizens or companies they control. Foreign ownership is only allowed with special government approval.

In March, the Namibian government had already rejected the US company’s bid to enter the national telecom market.
