Main features of the DF-17 hypersonic missile:
A maneuverable warhead exceeds five times the speed of sound (~1,7 km/s), significantly complicating its interception by current anti-missile systems;
An estimated range of between 1,800 and 2,500 kilometers, the DF-17 can cover a large part of the "first island chain," considered strategic for China.
