SA Seeks to Deepen Economic Partnership With China: VP

This is "aimed at advancing trade, investment, and long-term industrial cooperation," Paul Mashatile said at the China International Supply Chain Expo.

According to him, priority areas for cooperation include:

🟠agriculture and food systems;

🟠critical minerals and green economy;

🟠advanced manufacturing, logistics and automotive value chains.

The relations between the countries continue to improve "through platforms such as BRICS, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and other multilateral engagements."

The Framework Agreement on Economic Partnership for Shared Prosperity, complemented by a zero‑tariff preference scheme, qualifies South African exports for duty‑free access to the Chinese market, he added.

"We are determined to position our country as both a preferred destination for investment and a reliable source of value within global supply chains."
