Us-Iran Talks End Day 1 With Agreement on 60-Day Roadmap, Qatar & Pakistan Say
The first round of talks in Lucerne concluded in a “positive and constructive atmosphere,” with encouraging progress toward finalizing an agreement, according to a joint statement by mediators Qatar and Pakistan.
Key outcomes:
🟠A high-level committee was established to provide political oversight of the mediation process;
🟠60-day roadmap was agreed upon to reach a final deal;
🟠A communication line was set up to ensure the safe passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz and prevent incidents or misunderstandings.
Qatar and Pakistan also confirmed that technical negotiations will begin immediately.
